Karen Colón

Karen Colón is an accomplished administrative and financial management professional with more than 25 years of experience supporting complex health, community, and grant-funded programs. Her work spans financial operations, grants administration, compliance, and cross-functional coordination within large, mission-driven organizations.
Ms. Colón currently serves as Program Manager for Finance and Business within the Division of Community and Population Health at the Ambulatory Care Network of New York Presbyterian Hospital. In this role, she oversees financial and business operations across multiple ambulatory care sites, supporting programs focused on community health, education, family planning, and school-based health services. Her responsibilities include managing hospital operating and grant budgets, coordinating with internal finance teams and public health agencies, and ensuring responsible stewardship of public and institutional funds.
Over the course of her tenure at New York Presbyterian Hospital, which began in 1998, Ms. Colón has held progressively senior roles in grants and financial management. As Program Manager for Grants, she worked closely with finance and legal departments to ensure compliance with funding requirements, supervised grant management operations, and supported program leaders in aligning financial practices with regulatory and reporting standards.
Ms. Colón brings a strong commitment to accountability, operational excellence, and mission alignment. Her experience managing public health funding and complex administrative systems contributes to organizational stability and long-term sustainability. She is known for her collaborative approach and her ability to translate financial requirements into practical, workable processes that support program goals.
Ms. Colón holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the State University of New York College at Oswego and is a graduate of New York Presbyterian Hospital’s Building Tomorrow’s Leadership program. She has been recognized with the NYP Service Excellence Award for Individual Achievement and is fluent in Spanish.
